Halifax Deanery
The Halifax Deanery is a family of Catholic parishes within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Leeds, serving the communities of Halifax, Sowerby Bridge, Mytholmroyd, Brighouse, Elland, Queensbury and the surrounding Calderdale area.
Rooted in the life of the local Church, the Deanery exists to foster collaboration between parishes, clergy, schools, parish communities and the lay faithful. It supports the shared work of ministry, pastoral care, safeguarding, evangelisation, sacramental life and the wider mission of the Church in this part of West Yorkshire.
Across the towns and valleys of Calderdale, our churches stand as places of prayer, welcome, service and continuity. Whether you are a regular parishioner, returning to the practice of the faith, visiting the area, or simply seeking a quiet place to pray, you will be warmly received.
